Tell us what’s going on. We’ll call you back — usually same day, always within one business day.
What happens after you reach out
- Sheddie or someone from the crew calls you back. Usually within a few hours during the workday. We’ll ask a few questions to understand what you need.
- We schedule a visit. Most calls turn into a same-week visit. Emergencies (no heat in January, no cool in July) get bumped to the top.
- Honest diagnosis, transparent pricing. We tell you what’s wrong, what it costs to fix, and whether repair or replacement makes sense for your situation. No pressure, no upsell theater.
- We do the work. Right the first time. Cleaned up after. Warrantied.
Hours & rates — when will I pay overtime?
Honest answer: we work when you need us. Standard rates apply during business hours. After hours, weekends, and Sundays cost more because our crew costs more. Here’s the whole picture.
What are your standard business hours?
Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm. This is when service calls run at our normal rate. Sheddie or someone from the crew answers the phone during these hours.
Are you available after hours or on weekends?
Yes — we’re on call effectively 24/7. If your heat goes out at 9pm in January or your AC dies Saturday afternoon in July, call us. Someone will answer or call you back quickly. Just know the rate changes based on when we come out.
When does the overtime rate apply?
Overtime rates apply:
- Weekdays after 4pm until 8am the next morning
- All day Saturday
The overtime rate is higher than our standard rate. If you call at 5pm Friday and we can come out Monday morning at 8am, that’s standard rate. If you need us at 5pm Friday, that’s overtime.
What about Sundays?
Sundays are double time. We’ll come out if you have a real emergency — no heat in freezing weather, no cool in a heat wave, gas leak, water leaking through your ceiling from a coil. But if it can wait until Monday morning at standard rate, we’ll usually recommend that.
How do I know if my problem is a real emergency?
Call us anyway — we won’t send a truck out if you don’t need one. A few things that generally warrant an emergency call:
- No heat when it’s below freezing
- No cooling when it’s in the 90s and someone in the house has a health issue
- Any gas smell (call the gas company first, then us)
- Water actively leaking from the indoor unit onto floors, drywall, or electronics
- Electrical burning smell from the equipment
Things that are usually not overnight emergencies:
- System runs but doesn’t quite keep up
- Weird noise but temperature is normal
- Filter changes, thermostat batteries, planned tune-ups
When in doubt, call. We’ll help you triage over the phone at no charge.
What’s the actual overtime rate?
We quote rates when you call, because they depend on the type of work, whether we need parts pulled from the truck versus a supplier, and how far out you are. Ask when you call — no surprises on the invoice.
Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
Yes, there’s a diagnostic call fee that covers the trip out and the diagnosis. If you go forward with the repair, that fee is applied to the work. This is standard for the trade, and it’s the same whether we come during business hours or on an emergency call — only the labor rate itself changes.
Can I save money by waiting until Monday?
Almost always, yes — if it’s safe to wait. When you call, we’ll help you decide. For a lot of non-critical issues, waiting for standard business hours is the right call. For a genuine emergency, the overtime rate is worth it.
