Tankless Water Heaters

A tankless water heater heats water as you use it. There is no large tank holding hot water all day. When it is sized and installed correctly, you can keep the shower going without waiting for a tank to recover.
That is a real benefit. It is not a reason for every house to switch.
Kilgore Heating and Air installs gas and electric tankless water heaters and helps you compare them with conventional tank water heaters. We will look at how many people use hot water, how many fixtures may run at once, what fuel or electrical service you have, and what the installation will actually require.
When tankless makes sense
A tankless unit can be a good fit when you want long, steady hot-water use without the limits of a storage tank. It can work well for a busy household, a home with a large soaking tub, a cabin or rental with changing occupancy, or a project where floor space matters.
Gas tankless models are often a strong option when gas or propane is available and the line can support the appliance. Electric tankless models can work in the right setting, but they may need a substantial electrical upgrade. We will tell you that before you buy one.
Tankless equipment also takes up less floor space than a large tank. For a utility closet or compact home, that can be useful.
When a tank water heater is the better call
A quality tank water heater is still a sensible choice for many homes. The upfront cost is usually lower. The installation can be simpler. If you do not have a large hot-water demand or do not want to upgrade gas piping or electrical service, a tank model may be the cleaner answer.
Tankless units need regular maintenance too. Mineral buildup can affect performance, so periodic flushing is part of ownership. They also need correct venting, drainage, fuel supply, or electrical capacity. Nobody should sell you one while skipping those details.
We are fine installing a tankless system. We are equally fine telling you a standard tank will serve you better. The right answer depends on your house, not what happens to be on a sales flyer.
Installation that plans ahead
We can coordinate the gas piping for a gas tankless water heater, including proper sizing and pressure testing. We also look at venting, location, condensate handling where needed, shutoffs, and service access. For electric units, we review the electrical demand before we call it a good fit.
